It turns out temporary living doesn't have to mean compromising.
Renting can mean living in a thoughtfully designed furnished apartment in the heart of Walthamstow, with incredible amenities, right on your doorstep.

Meet Thandi. She’s a Legal Director, Walthamstow local and current resident at The Eades. She’s a short-term renter who moved into a two-bedroom furnished apartment with her family whilst renovation works take place at her nearby home. It’s not forever, but that hasn’t stopped Thandi from making her apartment feel like home. We asked her a few questions about what life is like living at The Eades:
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
My name is Thandi, I'm a lawyer and content creator, living in London with my husband and little boy.
WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO THE EADES?
I'd initially come across the building after visiting and being absolutely taken aback by The Sessile by Way of Life in Tottenham Hale. The Eades seemed like the perfect interim measure for us offering ready-made furnished apartments in Walthamstow to move into while our home gets renovated.
Moving in was surprisingly easy, made more so because we went for a furnished apartment as that made the most sense for our family. And boy am I happy we made that decision. Not only is the development beautiful, but its location makes it incredibly convenient as it's close to our son's school and it is easy for both of us to get to work.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION WHEN YOU WALKED INTO YOUR APARTMENT?
I immediately noticed how considered the space was set out: generously sized bedrooms, light-filled living area, all done to a high spec without feeling like a showroom in any way. Think warm tones, floor-to-ceiling windows, light filled mornings and considered furniture pieces. A well-designed space that looks beautiful and works!

HOW DOES THE LAYOUT WORK FOR YOUR ROUTINE?
The layout is perfect for our family as the open-plan living/kitchen/dining area is well spaced and kitted out, with the bedroom being nicely removed from the living area for quiet and privacy. The clever use of storage is a massive selling point, which is not often the case with new builds.
The space has clearly been designed to allow for a healthy degree of family interaction; we've also hosted family for lunch in our apartment which was easy and didn't feel crowded at all! Shout out to the super comfortable sofa and beds (with extra storage too), they feel like hotel quality pieces!
WHAT’S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO YOU IN A HOME?
To feel safe, to be comfortable and for it to be a haven to come back to each day, this apartment ticks all those boxes.

ANY MUST-HAVES PIECES TO MAKE A SHORT-TERM RENTAL APARTMENT FEEL LIKE HOME?
Add lots of texture in the form of throws and cushions; and a bit of greenery dotted around the space for lightness and add some pops of colour.
WHAT AMENITY SPACES DO YOU USE THE MOST?
I'm a regular user of the gym which has everything you could possibly need, alongside the beautiful yoga studio. The gym being downstairs = no excuses. Quick sessions are actually quick, which makes consistency realistic.
And on the days when I work from home, I use the co-working space which is never too crowded or loud making it a proper setting for deep work and calls which you can take in the privacy booths. The winner for me are the ergonomic chairs.
The lounge areas are great for a change of scenery during the workday, instead of going back up to the apartment for lunch and breaking my flow (translate getting absorbed into ‘quickly’ doing house chores) I’ll just have lunch there. Stylish, calm, and a reminder that shared spaces can still feel elevated.
And my absolute favourite, the private dining room. This space is such a win. We’ve hosted two long table lunches during our time here already, and we’re keen to get another in before we leave. The kitchen is kitted out with all the appliances you could possibly need and it comfortably seats 20 people/kids. It really is a dreamy space!

DO YOU FEEL PART OF A COMMUNITY LIVING AT THE EADES?
The experience has been great, people are chatty in the lifts which I quite like; and our neighbours on our floor are really friendly, which lends to a nice community feel.
DESCRIBE YOUR TYPICAL DAY AT THE EADES
As it's getting lighter in the mornings, we like to sleep with the blinds up for a natural wake-up which is great because the views from our apartment are amazing. We start the day with coffee and breakfast with our son before we drop him off at school.
On alternate days I'll either hit the gym or do a quick stretch in the yoga studio if I don't have time to do a full workout. If I'm not going into the office, I'll work downstairs in the first-floor co-working space.
In the evenings I'll either pop out to an event (which is so easy given Walthamstow Central station is only 3 minutes away) or we'll be home for an early dinner and bedtime before we do it all again.
FINALLY, THERE ARE SO MANY LOCAL BUSINESSES IN WALTHAMSTOW – ANY FAVOURITES?
The Good Egg in Walthamstow Village, Beaten by a Whisker bakery and Sodo pizza. It’s not a local business as such, but I also love the abundance of green space near to The Eades including the Walthamstow Wetlands, the marshes, plus easy access to Epping Forest.
